Now entering the Terrible Twos

Legos Today's the 2nd birthday of this blog.  It's also the birthday of Frodo, Rakim (the other half of "Eric B and"), and the Lego Brick - which makes for a better picture.

Over the past year, a few great things happened.  I met a lot of interesting people.  My feed subscribers grew steadily from about 100 to just over 1,000.  And I settled in with three other social media properties: Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr.

Enough about me.  Going into year two, I'm more excited about a couple of other people's blogs.  Ann Handley of MarketingProfs has started a personal blog.  My colleague Brian Haven has renewed his as well.

I know some other people are thinking about starting to blog.  What are you waiting for?

Happy Blog Birthday.....and how did I miss the launch of Ann's blog? Thanks for linking to it.

Thanks, Peter! I include you in that category... no time like the present! Whaddya say?! Now that this blog is out of diapers... you'll have some time on your hands. : )

p.s. Thanks for the link luv!

Hey Pete,

Your blog is older than mine! But only by a couple of weeks. Happy blog birthday!

Wow so you share your blogging bday with Rakim? I'll resist the joke about how you ain't no joke ;) Congrats!

Wow - how do I follow up on four bloggers who all kick ass? Thanks for stopping by - I've certainly learned a lot from following you all.

Congrats on starting year #2! That's quite an accomplishment, Peter.

Just wanted to pass along a nifty little Facebook app that allows you to post a public URL to your profile.

>>Search under apps for "Profile Web Address".
>>It allows you to link to something like this: http://profile.to/JohnHerrington/

I recommend the app above, b/c folks like me that aren't in your upenn network aren't taken to your profile that you've linked to. When clicking on your Facebook link it just redirects me to my homepage.

Hi John - thanks for your comments. I think the issue *might* be that you're either not a friend or not persistently logged in. When I click on other people's links that are based on their university network, e.g. Columbia or Northeastern, I still go straight to their page as long as they're a friend.

Thanks for the heads up! I see a lot of friends have already installed the app.

Congrats on year 2! How cool to share it with Lego. Let's see if next year you can get your face on the Google search page ;)

Thanks Gavin! Maybe one day I'll get a WSJ hedcut too...

Peter - hope I haven't missed all the cake and champagne. Happy belated blog-birthday!

Congratulations, Peter! The two's are terrific!! Well done, and here is to many more... Rock on.

Pete, a belated happy blog birthday! Congratulations and all the best for another year's worth of fascinating blog related adventures.
