I'd like to hear about any resolutions for this year that are on your mind.
I admit: nothing specific comes to mind for me...I will be very focused on building a business this year. Looking back at 2008, I pursued three resolutions successfully but won't declare "mission accomplished" on any of them, because they're worth revisiting continually.
Some things to consider working on, if you're looking for suggestions:
- Protect your identity. Download your free annual credit report (US only).
- Build your network before you need them. Build your personal brand in conjunction with your corporate brand.
- Get yourself fit and help young people get there, too.
Would love to hear what you're planning to work on.
My resolution is stop using the word "like" as a replacement for "said". This is a horrible habit I picked up as a teenager and it makes me sound like a teenager... ack.

Peter, I'm a new subscriber. I stumbled upon your post on the Wiki of Social Media Marketing and have been stuck on your blog for about three hours soaking it in. Great stuff. Thanks.

My resolution is to start sharing the social media success I have at work as case studies. Sounds weird but I think '09 is going to be a critical year for social media to validate itself. We can't keep relying on the same tired case studies, we need to develop best practices collaboratively and help each other out. That and be healthy and get organized :)

Peter,
For a bit of fun (as well as being useful / interesting, I hope) just ran a post on my blog on the Top 10 Blog Posts in the Marketing Blogsphere - 2008.
Included one of your posts: "A List of Social Media Marketing Examples".
Good luck for 2009. Eamon - Spotlight Ideas

Pete, you should resolve to quit social media and become a photographer. Your travel images are still the best out there. It will get you fit and build your personal network too!

I froze my credit b/c Transunion was merging my data with another Peter with a very similar social. It was a horrible experience.
Anyway, I'm going to be more assertive in '09. I recycled vigorously in 2008.

Nice list, I'd agree with some but not all. A term like "game changer" should certainly be dropped. But "ROI?" Since when are proven results out of fashion?

I've resolved to stop using these, and I challenge you to join me:

My resolution is to stop for 15 minutes first thing every Monday morning and think about three things that happened in the last week that I am happy about.
